Monthly Mani Favs

The One With the March Monthly Mani Favs

9:00:00 AM

Happy Friday, yes I said Friday, polished world!!  How are you all doing today?  I am beyond thrilled that the week is almost over.  It has been a super busy week, so I am beyond excited to sleep in and do nothing all weekend.

It is also March 31st which means that we are at the end of another month.  That means it is time to share my Monthly Mani Favs!  This month was kind of weird because I didn't get as many posts up as I originally planned thanks to that lovely power outage that lasted for five days.  That power outage taught me that I should probably schedule my posts ahead of time.  I do have about 5 drafts ready to go, I just haven't written the actual post.

Let's take a look at my favorite manicures for March!

  • The One With Round 34 of Bestie Twin Nails with Fashion Footing - You read that right, 34 rounds of Bestie Twin Nails with Fashion Footing.  This month we re-created an abstract design we've been seeing all over Instagram.  I didn't think this manicure was going to turn out well at all, but I was pleasantly surprised.
  • The One With the Floral Manicure - This is a re-creation of a manicure I did about three years ago.  Originally when I did this design, I used Liberty, the blue Pixie Dust.  Now I added the gorgeous Alice to my polish collection, I had to re-create the manicure using it.  Such a gorgeous purple design!
  • The One With the Bright Dotticure - Purple and mint dots over a black base?  Love.  This manicure was so fun.  I haven't done a crazy dotticure like this in a long time, so it was nice to do something simple and fun.
  • The One With the Floral Manicure Inspired By Paulina's Passion - I think this is my favorite of the whole month of March.  A pretty negative space purple rose manicure.  I am very pleased with how this turned out.
What do you think?  Fan of any of these?  Did you like the other manicures I did?

Until next time, <3.

Bestie Twin Nails

The One With Round 34 of Bestie Twin Nails With FashionFooting

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  It's Wednesday which means the middle of the week is officially here.  The weekend is right around the corner.  So is the end of the month of March.  Seriously where is the year going?  Everything is going by so fast.  Maybe because I've been so busy.  Who knows.

Today is round 34 of Bestie Twin Nails with Fashion Footing.  Amanda has abandoned her blog, so you'll have to head on over to her Instagram page to see her version.  As for me though, I'm going to keep going with this blog as long as possible.  Today for our manicure, we went with an abstract design that I've seen all over the blogging world.  Most recently, I saw Sarah from 25SweetPeas re-create the design.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • ORLY - White Tips
  • ORLY - Liquid Vinyl
  • OPI - Love Angel Music Baby
  • China Glaze - Pinking Out the Window
I didn't think that I would like this manicure on me as much as I did.  I was really upset that after two days it chipped and I had to remove it.  I really can see myself recreating this manicure with a different color combination.  That's how much I liked it.

China Glaze Pinking Out the Window is such a gorgeous pink shade.  I forgot that I even owned it, and really cannot for the life of me remember when it became part of my collection.  I feel like I used it once before, but I really cannot remember.  I'm going to have to go back through the blog and look.

What do you think? Fan of this abstract manicure?  Am I the only one who forgets that they own polishes?

Until next time, <3.

The One With the Floral Manicure Inspired by Paulina's Passion

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today??  It's Monday which means it is the start to another fun filled work week.  Hopefully it won't be as busy as last week, but I highly doubt that.  I apologize for not getting a post up yesterday but it completely slipped my mind.  I was out late and forgot to schedule a post.  Time just ticks away from me.

Anyways, today's manicure is one that I have been wanting to do for quite some time.  After finding a beautiful purple negative space floral rose manicure by Paulina's Passion on Pinterest, I pinned it to my Nail Ideas board and sat on it for quite some time.  I loved the look, wanted to attempt it, but really did not have the courage to do so.  I didn't think it would look right on my nails at all, my roses would be messed up, and it just all around would be a disaster.

After months of procrastinating and refusing to attempt the design, I finally gathered the courage and tried it.  And guess what, it wasn't a disaster at all!

Let's take a look.

Colors Used:
  • OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls
  • OPI - Love Angel Music Baby
  • FingerPaints - Lavender Love
  • Color Club - Blue-Ming
Isn't it gorgeous?  I cannot believe how much I love this manicure.  I was super proud of myself too when I completed it and had no smudges, perfect lines, and rather decent roses.  The hardest part of the whole manicure was the tape.  The easy part was that I just had to apply a base coat and then the tape since it's a negative space manicure.  The hard part; lining all the tape up.  My OCD was really testing me with this manicure.  I'm so proud of myself for getting all the lines rather straight and evenly spaced on all the nails.

The roses on top really completed the look.  I'm so happy I stumbled across this design and that I finally re-created it on my own nails.  Thanks to the FingerPaints Gel Like Base Coat,  I was able to enjoy this manicure for five days before I finally took it off.  And honestly, it could have gone another day or so because there were absolutely no chips.  I'm in love with that base coat now.

What do you think?  Fan of this look?  Something you would try?

Until next time, <3.

Color Club

The One With the Bright Dotticure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world and Happy Thursday!  The weekend is almost here, are you excited?  It's supposed to rain all weekend here, but that just means I'll have lots and lots of decent sleep.  I cannot be the only one who sleeps well when it's raining.

Even though it's Spring, I'm holding off on sharing some Spring-time manicures until it is actually warmer outside.  I do have hope though that Spring is right around the corner because I saw a red-breasted robin the other day and every morning when I leave for work you hear all the birdies chirping.

So since I am not sharing a Spring manicure today, I'm sharing a fun dotticure that I did using some of my favorite Color Club polishes.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • ORLY - Liquid Vinyl
  • ORLY - White Tips
  • Color Club - Pucci-Licious
  • Color Club - Blue-Ming
Kind of awesome, right?  I absolutely love how this manicure turned out.  The dark base, the bright dots that just pop off.  Everything about it is perfect.  Not to mention, combining mint and purple together is one of my favorite things ever.  I just love the color combination.

Pucci-Licious is a gorgeous purple shade that I actually wasn't going to purchase but am so happy that it did.  It is so perfectly opaque that it showed up perfectly when dotted over the black.  When swatched, the polish requires two coats as the first can be a tad streaky.

We all know my love for all things mint, so it makes sense that Blue-Ming would be one of my all time favorite polishes.  This one is a pure beauty alone or alongside other polishes and used in nail art.  For a swatch, you need two coats because the first is a bit patchy.

What do you think?  Fan of this dotticure?  Do you love the Color Club creams?

Until next time, <3.

Happy Monday polished world!!  Yes, that's right, Monday.  Why did the weekend go by so quickly?  It's probably because the past two weeks have been a crazy cluster of weather mishaps and odd schedules.

Two weeks ago I posted swatches of the Morgan Taylor Beauty and the Beast Collection.  The gorgeous collection was provided to me by Morgan Taylor through the Preen.Me VIP program.  I was rather excited to receive these gorgeous Spring colors because as you all know, Spring polishes are my favorite....next to neons.

After swatching, I of course created some nail art, but never got to post it due to the lack of power.  Then St. Patrick's Day came and I had to post those two green manicures and this pretty mani had to be put on the back burner.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Morgan Taylor - Gaston and On and On
  • Morgan Taylor - Be Our Guest
  • OPI - Champagne For Breakfast
Pretty, right?  Since the rose is a main theme in Beauty in the Beast, I wanted to do some sort of rose manicure using these polishes.  I decided to do some sort of mish mosh manicure using Gaston and On and On alongside Be Our Guest which I think look wonderful together.  I wasn't going to do a glitter accent, but after seeing the gorgeous silver holo that is Champagne for Breakfast by OPI, I had to pair it alongside the other two.

Gaston and On and On is a gorgeous pale baby blue shade.  Full coverage in two coats.  It worked wonderfully for the tape design on my index finger.  I think this is my favorite from the collection.  You know me and my blue polishes.

Be Our Guest is a gorgeous pink shade.  Two coats and full coverage.  Worked amazingly for the dot roses.  I really feel like this is a great Spring pedicure color.

What do you think of this design?  Something you would try?  Do you feel a Beauty and the Beast vibe from this?

Until next time, <3.

**Products were provided compliments of Morgan Taylor through the #PreenMeVIP Program.  All opinions are my own**

#TheNailArtSquad does St. Patrick's Day!

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today??  It's St. Patrick's Day!  That means it is time for everything green!  Except the weather....the weather here is very white thanks to that blizzard we got the other day.  Oh well, that just means that Spring is right around the corner!

Today I am happy to be collaborating again with the lovely ladies of The Nail Art Squad.  For our collaboration today, we decided to create shamrock manicures!  Now, if I had more time, I probably would have come up with something a little different, or done many more festive manicures, but alas that didn't happen.

Let's take a look at my random shamrock manicure!

Colors Used:
  • ORLY - Invite Only
  • FingerPaints - Golden Glaze
  • ORLY - White Tips
  • Zoya - Maria Luisa
Fun, right?  I wasn't sure where I was going with this manicure, but love the end result.  At first I wasn't going to use Maria Luisa by Zoya, but am happy that I did.  I think it blends really well together and adds a little umph to the manicure.  I always forget about how gorgeous this polish is.  I really need to use it more.

My shamrock is a little better than years past.  Usually it ends up looking like a blurred green splotch on my nail.  This year it actually resembles a little clover.  I was going to do a four leaf one, but I wasn't going to risk having it not work and then ruining my manicure.

What do you think?  Fan of this look?  Something you'd try for today??

Stay safe if you all are going out tonight!!!

Until next time, <3.

The One With the Dot Manicure for St. Patrick's Day

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  We are smack dab in the middle of a lovely blizzard, so you know how I'm doing.  They're expecting us to have about 2 feet by the end of all this.  Oh well, we haven't had any snow this winter, and I did want one big storm before winter was over, so I guess that's what this is.

Since my power was out all last week, I wasn't able to do as many St. Patrick's Day manicures as I would have liked.  When the power did kick back on, I was kind of exhausted and just wanted to sit around and do nothing, but needed to do some sort of manicure.  Of course, I opted for something simple....dots.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Sinful Colors - Pistache
  • INM - Emerald
  • FingerPaints - Golden Glaze
  • Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
Lovely, right?  I did a similar manicure last year for St. Patrick's Day but I didn't like the colors I used then.  They were similar, but not the same.  Sinful Colors Pistache is a gorgeous light green shade.  Stains awful, but it's beautiful.  Using it for nail art though, you don't get the stains as much as when you use it as a base.

Emerald is a gorgeous polish by the lovelies over at INM.  I love their polishes for bases and for nail art.  They are just perfect all around.  I've had this one for a few months and am kicking myself that I haven't used it sooner!

What do you think?  Like this design?

I'll have one more St. Patrick's Day manicure for you on Friday!  Then I need to start creating some Easter manicures!

Until next time, <3.

Gradient Mani

The One With the Serendipity Polish Gradient

9:00:00 AM

Hi all!!!  I know, I know I have been missing for almost a week!  Well, last Wednesday a wind storm ripped through the area knocking power out for pretty much everyone.  Five days later, my power was finally restored.  With  no power, I was unable to take photos, edit them, or even access the blog.  It's been a sad few days.

Now that power is restored, I can return to blogging and painting.  I was dying just painting plain colors on my nail by candlelight.  And since I hated doing that so much, I ended up just painting my nails pretty much one time, they chipped awful, then left my nails in awful shape.  So now I'm trying to give my nails some TLC while doing some St. Patrick's Day designs.

Today's design is something simple and from The Little Canvas vault.  A few weeks ago I decided to do a gradient using some of the polishes from Serendipity Polish's RSVP For NYE collection.  I've seen this gradient all over Instagram and had been wanting to do it because the colors were just gorgeous.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Serendipity Polish - Midnight Kisses
  • Serendipity Polish - Glitzy Gold Champagne
  • Serendipity Polish - Dazzling Sparklers
  • Serendipity Polish - Party Crown
Isn't it lovely??  To get the look I started off with one coat of Midnight Kisses.  That's right, one coat is all you need of these lovely metallic foil polishes.  Since they dry super fast, I was able to do my gradient right away.  On a make up sponge, I painted Midnight Kisses, Glitzy Gold Champagne, Dazzling Sparklers, and Party Crown.  Dabbed the sponge a few times on the nail, then added a top coat, and called it a night.

Absolutely love the color combination.  I never would have thought to do this on my own, so I thank all the lovely bloggers who created this look before me.  The Serendipity Polishes blended so well together and created such a gorgeous metallic gradient.

What do you think?  Fan of this look?  Own any of these polishes??

Until next time, <3.

Morgan Taylor Beauty and the Beast Collection Swatch and Review Part 2

9:00:00 AM

Hey everyone!!!  Are you ready for Part Two of my Swatch and Review of the Morgan Taylor Beauty and the Beast collection??  The more I thought about this, the more I think I should have broken the posts up different than swatches then top coat.  Oh well.  Lesson learned for next time.

Anyways, one polish that I did not review yesterday was Enchanted Patina.  This polish can be worn alone or added on top of the polishes to create a bronzed antique look.  Now, guys I apologize in advance, I didn't do a plain swatch of the polish, I just did it on top of the swatches from yesterday.

Head on into the post to see the swatches!

Morgan Taylor

Morgan Taylor Beauty and the Beast Collection Swatch and Review Part 1

9:00:00 AM

Okay, attempt number two.  Hello polished world!  How are you all doing today??  I say that this is attempt number two because I wrote this whole post, hit schedule, and it disappeared.  Poof, gone, away.  That's never happened and I'm honestly so confused.

Anyways, today I have a swatch post for you all today!  It's been quite some time since I've shared swatches, and that's honestly because it's kind of a pain in the behind to create them.  Paint, photograph, remove, paint, photograph, remove....it's so monotonous.  The removing part is my least favorite.

When I received the new Morgan Taylor Beauty and the Beast Collection from Preen.Me, I just had to swatch it.  I was all prepped to suck it up, forget my hate of the swatching process, and just go for it.  That was until Sarah from 25 Sweet Peas told me about the Sally Hansen Big Peel Off Base Coat.  Now swatching is something I can see myself doing a lot more of!!!

Enough of my babbling, the Beauty and the Beast collection consists of 6 polishes and 1 top coat.  Let's take a look!

Dot Mani

The One With the Simple Heart Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  Happy Sunday.  Yes, that's right, Sunday.  Where did the weekend go?  It's shocking to me how fast the days are flying by.  I really need to sit down and focus on the blog the next few days because I have literally 8 posts to share and no time to actually write up said posts.  Okay, I have some time, but I get side tracked with other things like swatching or watching Netflix.

Today's manicure is a simple nude and black dot and heart design.  I did something similar a few years ago, and then saw BadGirlNails switch up some of the colors so I decided to give it a whirl again.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Zoya - Tomoko
  • ORLY - Liquid Vinyl
  • OPI - Pale to the Chief
Super simple, super pretty.  Was one of my favorites years ago, and one of my favorites today.  It's a perfect refresher manicure after doing some crazy bright ones over the past few weeks.  Something neutral and simple really kind of clears my mind and helps me think of new ideas.

Pale to the Chief by OPI is yet another perfect nude polish.  OPI nude's are my favorite.  This one is two coats and full coverage and has a real subtle shimmer to it.  I debated on purchasing this one back in the Fall since I already have so many OPI nudes, but I'm super happy that I did.

What do you think?  Fan of this manicure?  Like the combination??

Have a great Sunday everyone!!

Until next time, <3.

China Glaze

The One With the Floral Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing?  It's March and we are having some crazy weather!  Yesterday it was near 70, and today it's in the 30s.  I think we're going to have an early Spring because all the buds on the trees are starting to bloom, and the flowers are beginning to pop up in the garden.  I'm not complaining, but I just hope that this doesn't mean everything is going to bloom and then we are hit with one last winter blast and everything dies.  Only time will tell.

Well, since Spring is in the air, I thought I would do some floral, fun, and bright nail art.  Since I've been re-creating designs that I did years ago, today I'm recreating this floral design, but in purple!  Since I purchased Zoya Alice, I have been dying to use it, and this was the perfect opportunity.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Zoya - Alice
  • China Glaze - Let's Jam
  • ORLY - Liquid Vinyl
  • ORLY - White Tips
Cute right?  One of my favorite manicures from years ago, and still is today, especially with this purple color combination.  I think Let's Jam by China Glaze and Alice by Zoya really worked well together.  Maybe I'm crazy, but I think it works.

Alice is such a gorgeous Pixie Dust.  Beyond happy to have it as part of my collection.  Two coats and full coverage, just like most other Pixie's that I own.  I add a top coat to mine, not sure why but I always do.  I have worn them without top coat in the past, and I find that the wear time is exactly the same.

What do you think?  Like this manicure?  Do the colors work well??

Until next time, <3.
