Bestie Twin Nails

The One With Round 32 of Bestie Twin Nails With FashionFooting

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!!!  How are you all doing on this fine Sunday?  The weather is cold, it's supposed to be snowy, it's winter.  What can you expect?  Everyone I know seems to be getting sick with a cold or respiratory virus, and I'm just here praying that I don't catch any of it.

Today is Round 32 of Bestie Twin Nails with Fashion Footing! This month we decided to re-create a yellow, taupe, and black design we saw on Pinterest.  I think that the original design was done using a stamp, but I decided to attempt it with some tape.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • OPI - My Twin Mimmy
  • China Glaze - Dope Taupe
  • ORLY - Liquid Vinyl
Love this design so much.  I never would have thought of this color combination.  I'm boring, blue and purple go together so that's what I always end up doing.  Now in order to inspire myself and think of different color combos, I started a Colors board on Pinterest.  Let's see if I actually use it in the future.

To get the look, I started off with a black polish and added a fast dry top coat.  When that was dried, I added painters tape my nail.  I then took my dotting tool and added the yellow and taupe.  Quickly removed the tape and added more top coat.  Now that I've started using top coat before putting tape on my nail, my lines are much cleaner.  I still can't believe that it took me almost five years to figure that out.

What do you think? Like this design?  Fan of the color combination?

Until next time, <3.

China Glaze

The One With the Random Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  It's Thursday which means that Saturday is almost here!  We had some snow yesterday but it didn't last long.  I know I'm weird, but I want just one good snowstorm with 2 feet of snow, then winter can end.  With my luck this snowstorm will come in April when I don't want it.

Anyways, today's manicure is a random tape manicure I did when I had zero manicure ideas.  I've been so uninspired lately.  I think I'm going to start re-creating my old manicures and doing a "then and now" feature.  That way I will have an idea....maybe?

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • ORLY - Frolic
  • ORLY - Liquid Vinyl
  • ORLY - Mirrorball
  • ORLY - White Tips
  • China Glaze - That's Shore Bright
So so close to using the same brand for this whole manicure.  Unfortunately  don't own Vintage by ORLY so I had to use my beloved neon mint from China Glaze.  I think when I make my next purchase from HBBeauty Bar, I'm going to have to purchase Vintage.  Or maybe ORLY will come out with something similar and since I have the ORLY color pass, I'll just be receiving it then.

I think that Frolic is one of my all time favorite colors.  Two coats and full coverage.  Always looks great on it's own and works well for nail art.  So pretty and vibrant.  I don't know why I have never used this polish as a pedicure polish in the summer.  When I order Vintage, I'm going to have to order a back up of this baby as well.

I have about 4 back ups of That's Shore Bright.  One of my all time favorite shades from China Glaze.  On it's own, requires two to three coats depending on how you apply it.  This one would be a great pedicure color as well.

What do you think?  Love the tape manicures?

Until next time, <3.

Dot Mani

The One With the Dotticure and ORLY As Seen On TV

Nothing to Disclose

Good morning polished world!  Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  Mine was super busy and super short.  The weather was beyond weird also.  There was this heavy dense fog all day yesterday.  Usually the fog lifts in the mornings but nope, not yesterday.  It was kind of neat though.  Tonight we're supposed to get a snow storm.  Should be interesting.

Today's manicure is a simple dotticure using one of the polishes from ORLY's new LaLa Land Collection for Spring.  You know me and my love of pastels, so you know how much I love this collection.  After using the blue one first, I knew the second one to use was the pastel purple.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • ORLY - As Seen on TV
  • ORLY - Liquid Vinyl
  • ORLY - Mirrorball
Simple yet cute.  I am in love with As Seen on TV.  A little sheer and took three coats to get full coverage, but not surprising seeing that it is a pastel polish.  Only a few pastels that I own are two coaters.  I'm not complaining though because well pastels are gorgeous.  Due to the fact it was sheer, I was nervous about doing the polka dots over the black polish.  As you can tell though, there was little to no problem.

I love how the colors go so well together.  Look at how stunning Mirrorball is.  The holo effect is beautiful.  By far one of my favorite polishes that I own.  Seriously, I have about 5 back up bottles.

What do you think?  Fan of this manicure?  Gotten your hands on any of the LaLa Land polishes yet?

Until next time, <3

Animal Print

The One With the Leopard and Morgan Taylor Up In the Air-Heart

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world.  How are you all doing on this amazing Friday?  It's amazing because the weekend is right around the corner!  Then the weekend will go to fast and Monday will be here again before we all know it.  Oh well, enjoying each day at a time!

Today's manicure is a peachy, nude gradient manicure with a leopard print inspired by BadGirlNails on Instagram.  I found this manicure while scrolling through Pinterest awhile ago and fell in love with it.  After searching through my stash, I found the perfect polish to be able to re-create it.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Morgan Taylor - Up In The Air-Heart
  • OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls
  • OPI - Love.Angel.Music.Baby

Isn't it a gorgeous color combination?  I am absolutely in love with Up In the Air-Heart by Morgan Taylor.  Two coats and complete coverage of this gorgeous pale peach beauty.  It worked super well for the gradient as well.  I was a little nervous because some of these paler shades tend to not show up when doing a gradient, but this one worked wonderfully.

I think this is a perfect manicure when you're looking for a simple refresher manicure.  Simple technique, simple nail art, and beautiful neutral shade.  It really goes with almost everything.

What do you think? Like this manicure?  Something you would try?

Until next time, <3.

China Glaze

The One With the Mint and Grey Floral Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!!  How are you all doing on this fine Wednesday?  Totally thought today was Thursday.  I don't know why I'm a day ahead this week.  Probably because I haven't been sleeping well all week and every day seems the same.  Who knows.

Anyways, today I'm sharing with you a somewhat bright floral manicure inspired by this manicure by agnesnailss on Instagram.  Everything has been so grey and dreary here lately, so I wanted to use a neon polish.  What better than my beloved China Glaze That's Shore Bright.

Let's take a look!!

Colors Used:
  • China Glaze - That's Shore Bright
  • INM - Granite
  • Zoya - Alicia
  • OPI - CIA Color is Awesome
  • OPI - I'm Sooo Swamped
Isn't this the cutest manicure?  So simple too.  I absolutely love the color combination.  It's still winter-y without it being too bright.  It was the perfect pop of color to help cure my winter blues.  Although, our winter hasn't been too winter-y.  It's just been cold.  I still want one snow storm.

Zoya Alicia is a gorgeous silver scattered holographic polish.  It's not picking up in the photo as much as I would like, but it is a beautiful polish.  I got this free before Halloween when they ran their three scattered holo deal.  I should have done the four free polish deal that they ran this past weekend, but I had no clue what I wanted so I skipped.  Kicking myself for not getting back ups of my favorites.  Oh well.  I'll just save up for the new Serendipity Polish collection....

What do you think of this manicure?  Like the look?  Cure your winter blues?

Until next time, <3.

Orly

The One With the Snowflakes and ORLY Celebrity Spotting

9:00:00 AM

Happy Sunday polished world!!  I'm sorry I have been bad at updating the blog so far this year.  I thought I had this post pre-published, but sure enough I didn't.  I swear I'm going to get back on track!

Today's manicure is a pretty snowflake manicure inspired by 25 SweetPeas!  I know you all are going to think I'm weird when I say this, but I'm sad that we haven't had a massive snowstorm yet this winter.  It's supposed to be in the 40s this week, so that means we will have rain.  Sigh, I dislike the gloomy and rain.  If it's going to be gloomy, at least give me snow so it's bright outside.

Let's take a look at the mani!

Colors Used:
  • ORLY - Celebrity Spotting
  • White Acrylic
Celebrity Spotting from the ORLY Sunset Strip collection is absolutely gorgeous.  Two coats and complete coverage of this beautiful purple polish with a subtle shimmer. Which goes on a lot more smoother now thanks to ORLY's new brush!  Remember how I said I wished they had the wider pro brush like OPI or Sally Hansen's Miracle Gel?  Well, now they do!!!  Love being able to apply a polish and not have to do a million swipes.

Once my base was dried, I took my small nail art brush and acrylic paint and got to work.  After painting three nails I was regretting my decision to do this manicure, especially since I always do the same design on both hands.  When I finished it though, I was super happy with how they turned out.

What do you think?  Missing snow in your region when usually you have it?  Have you tried ORLY's new brush?

Until next time, <3.

Gradient Mani

The One With the Blue Gradient and Splatter Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Happy Wednesday polished world!  How are you all doing today?  Middle of the week is officially here which means Friday is right around the corner.  I apologize to my followers because this year I really haven't been off to the greatest of starts.  My posting schedule is all over the place and I keep forgetting to update my social media networks.  I need to get back into a blogging groove.

Today's manicure I think one of my all time favorite manicures.  Gradient + splatter + blue = perfection.  I used one of my new ORLY polishes from the upcoming spring collection for a base and it's just lovely.

Let's take a look.

Colors Used:
  • ORLY - Forget Me Not
  • OPI - Can't Find My Czechbook
  • OPI - My Pal Joey
  • ORLY - Liquid Vinyl
  • ORLY - White Tips
  • INM - Northern Lights
Seriously guys, this is one of my all time favorite manicures!  I started off with a base coat of ORLY Forget Me Not, a pale baby blue polish.  I used two coats because I was going to put a gradient over it.  Some of the nails were fine though with two coats, if I was going to leave it plain I probably would have used 3 coats.  It's a sheer pastel, so that's to be expected.

When it dried, I did the gradient using Forget Me Not, Can't Find My Czechbook, and My Pal Joey.  I added a top coat of INM Northern Lights before adding the messy splatter.

To create the splatter, I took those coffee stirrers that are like a straw and first dipped one into a black polish and splattered the polish on my nail.  I then did the same using the white polish.  I love how the splatter looks different on each nail!  Truly makes the manicure look unique.

What do you think?  Fan of this manicure?  Think that this manicure is worth all the clean up??

Until next time, <3.

Serendipity Polish

The One With the Swirls and Serendipity Polish Party Crown

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  Monday is here yet again.  The weekends go by way too fast, especially when the weather stinks and it's too cold for you to go to the store and do your errands.  Okay, dramatic I know, but when the windchill is below zero, you really do not want to leave the house.

Today's manicure is a freehand swirl manicure I did using some of my beloved Serendipity Polish.  I've used the gold, silver, and copper polish from the RSVP for NYE collection, and it was about time that I used the beautiful pink.

Let's take a look.

Colors Used:
  • Serendipity Polish - Party Crown
  • Serendipity Polish - Holoday Lights
  • Serendipity Polish - Building My Empire
Lovely, right?  Kind of reminds me of wrapping paper.  I haven't done a freehanded swirl manicure like this in years.  It's simple to do, yet looks like it would take hours to do.  I also love that it looks like it's stamped.

Party Crown is a gorgeous metallic pink polish which has full coverage in one coat.  Yes you read that right, another one coater from Serendipity Polish.  They do not disappoint.  It of course dried super fast so I was able to do my nail art in a relatively quick time period and call it a night.

What do you think?  Fan of this manicure? Do you own any of the RSVP for NYE polishes?

Until next time, <3.

Dry Brush Mani

The One with the Dry Brush Chevrons and Zoya Finley

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing on this amazing Friday?  This feels like it has been the longest week ever.  I only worked four days this week because of the New Year holiday and I really feel like I've been playing catch up ever since.  Hopefully next week it will even out.

Today I have a manicure inspired by @mrswhite8907 on Instagram.  The design was inspired I believe by a pair of Lularoe leggings she had.  I obviously fell in love with the design because it's purple, and we all know that's one of my favorite colors.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Zoya - Finley
  • FingerPaints - Lavender Love
  • FingerPaints - Paper Mache
  • ORLY - Charged Up
I love this design.  I never would have thought to create dry-brush chevrons!  So much fun and unique.  To get the look, I started off with a base coat of Lavender Love by FingerPaints.  Two coats of the pretty lavender purple which is mostly covered up with the chevrons.  You can kind of see it through the white.  Anywho, when my base was dry, I took the white polish and started to add the chevron shape using the dry-brush technique.  I then added the purple, then went through and blended it a little more with some more white.

I think it would have been easier to do using a smaller brush versus the larger brush that FingerPaints has.  I had an easier time using the ORLY Charged up because it is a thinner brush.  Now though ORLY has released a new brush and it's wider, but I'll get into that in another post.

Zoya Finley - be still my heart.  A gorgeous purple polish with a scattered holo.  So, so, so happy I took advantage of the Halloween promo and received this beauty for free.  Dream and Aurora were my favorite scattered holos, but now this for sure is number one.  It works so well accenting the chevron design.

What do you think?  Fan of this manicure?  Do you love Zoya Finley as much as I do?

Until next time, <3.

Dry Brush Mani

The One With a Dry Brush Manicure and Serendipity Polish

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  Hope everyone had a great and Happy New Year!  Can you believe that 2017 is already here?  Before I know it, I'm going to be doing Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day manicures.

Today's manicure is another one I wore for New Years.  I of course used my beloved Serendipity Polish's.  Two of them are from the RSVP for NYE collection which had five gorgeous metallic polishes.  Now that the holidays are over, I'm going to have to swatch them to show you all.  They truly are gorgeous.  If I don't have time to do swatches, then for sure I'm going to have to use them for nail art.

Let's take a look at my dry brush look!

Colors Used:
  • Serendipity Polish - Building My Empire
  • Serendipity Polish - Midnight Kisses
  • Serendipity Polish - Dazzling Sparklers
Impossible to photograph, but it was such a lovely manicure.  I started off with just one coat of Building My Empire - one of the best black polishes out on the market.  One coat, super fast drying, super glossy finish.  It's beautiful.

Once my base was dry, I took Midnight Kisses and swiped it across my nails a few times.  As expected, the polish had a perfect dry brush effect.  I was a little nervous because some metallic polishes can be clumpier or have metallic flecks in them which tend to not be so nail art friendly.  This went right across the nail like a perfect cream.

Now I ordered the whole collection because there are just some brands that I need to own every single polish, and Serendipity Polish is one of those brands.  If I was selecting individual colors, I don't think I would have personally bought Dazzling Sparklers on it's own.  Plus side of ordering whole collections, I get polishes I never would have tried before.  I'm so happy I have this one because it truly is gorgeous.  Just like Midnight Kisses, this copper beauty worked amazingly well with the nail art.

What do you think?  Fan of this manicure?  Something you'd try?  Have you purchased any Serendipity's yet??

Until next time, <3.
