Retro Dot Mani

Happy Saturday blogging world!  How are you all today?  It's cold and still snowy here.  Literally nothing new to report.  I cannot wait to wake up to the birds chirping and the flowers blooming.  Six more weeks of winter better be true.

Since Valetine's Day is a week away, I should get my act together and start posting some themed manicures.  I honestly have no ideas in my mind and am not a huge fan of the holiday, therefore I'll probably only do one.

Today's manicure could kind of be considered Valentine's Day-ish.  It is pink and purple, which are huge colors for the day.  So if you aren't a fan of the day like me, you could do something similar to this retro dot manicure!

Let''s take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Orly - Charged Up
  • Ulta - Flamingo
  • Orly Instant Artist - White
Kind of a different look from the past retro dot manicures I've done.  For this one, I started off with a base coat of Orly Charged Up.  Such an awesome deep purple polish!  Applies a little patchy with two coats, but evens out in three.  It dries almost like a crelly, but leans more towards the cream.

When my base was dry, I took the pink polish and went right down the middle of the nail.   I then when through with my striper and dotting tools and added all the details.

My only dislike about the retro dot look is how bumpy it ends up being when it's dried.  I have to work on my technique because I don't think that other bloggers look as lumpy as mine are.  They were so lump that I ended picking off the little dots throughout the day.  Oh well, it was still cute.

What do you think?  Fan of this retro dot manicure?

Until next time, <3.
