The One With the Nautical Design and BTN with 25 Sweet Pea!

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today??  It's Sunday already, which means Monday is right around the corner.  The beginning to another work week.  Ugh, why do weekends go so fast?  Why can't all weekends be three day weekends?  Le sigh.

Today I am posting alongside of Sarah from 25 Sweet Peas for a nautical themed Bestie Twin Nail post!!

Every year I attempt to do a nautical design, and every year I hate that design.  It ends up turning out completely differently than what I imagined in my head.  This year, I reluctantly tried again expecting to totally hate the outcome.  I was pleasantly surprised though and actually was in LOVE with the manicure.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Sally Hansen - Take the Plunge
  • Zoya - Tomoko
  • Orly - White Tips
Aren't they awesome???  I love them so much!  The blue, the gold, the stripes, the anchor.  Everything turned out just as I imagined it would!  Almost 99% of the time when I do a striped design like this using nail art tape, the stripes never turn out this well!  They're straight, there aren't any streaks from the top coat, and it's not like a bunch of peaks and valleys because I did too much of the top color.  I'm so proud.

Take the Plunge is a new summer collection from Sally Hansen and the Miracle Gel line.  You can get it now in stores as part of a special two pack with a top coat for $11.99 which is a deal.  It's such a gorgeous navy polish which applies perfectly in two coats.  You can get one coat but I do suggest two to get a richer color.  Just like my other Miracle Gels, it lasted forever on my nails.  I can see myself using this as a transition color from summer to fall on my toes.  Love it.

We already know my love for Tomoko.  It's my favorite of the original formula Pixies.  I had to take a bottle shot with it because it is one of my favorites.  Two coats, lovely sparkly shine.  For my anchor I don't think I used Tomoko and instead just a plain gold polish.  Looking at this I'm honestly not sure what I did, but I do know it was done with polish.  Probably the best freehand anchor I have ever done in my four years of blogging.

What do you think?  Like this nautical look?

Don't forget to check out Sarah's post!

Until next time, <3.
