The One With Daisies and OPI No Tan Lines

9:00:00 AM

Good Morning polished world!  Happy Monday to everyone.  Happy and Monday don't belong in the same sentence, do they?  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I went on an almost 5 mile walk through the local park here with my friend on Saturday, and my whole body hurts today.  It was fun though and I want to go again.  I love hiking, it's so calming and peaceful.

Today's manicure is a fun daisy manicure.  Yes, another daisy design from me, shocking,  I was surfing Pinterest and stumbled upon a similar design using an orange base and I really wanted to re-create it as soon as I saw it.  The first orange polish that popped into my mind was one of my newer purchases - OPI No Tan Lines.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • OPI - No Tan Lines
  • Acrylics
Yes, I cheated, I used acrylics for pretty much this whole manicure minus the base.  The pretty, orange perfect base polish.  Two coats and I had full coverage.  My only complaint about this polish was that it took a long time to drive.  Abnormally long.  Maybe because it was humid out, but it was odd to me.  I ended up putting a fast dry top coat on before adding the art, which I never usually have to do.

To get the look, I first outlined my design with a black acrylic.  When I had everything how I liked it, I colored in the blank areas.  Cleaned up my lines, added some dots, and admired my pretty design.

What do you think?  Fan of this look?  Did anyone else find that this polish did not want to dry??

Until next time, <3.

Dry Brush Mani

The One With the Serendipity Polish Dry Brush Manicure

Good morning polished world!  How are you all on this fine Wednesday?  Honestly guys, if I survive this week, it will be a miracle.  Everything is so crazy busy!!!  I rather it be busy though than slow and dragging.  This all means that the weekend is right around the corner, right?

With my busy week, I'm writing up this post quick before I move onto the next thing.  And since I'm writing this post in the wee hours of the morning, the next thing I'm planning on doing is sleeping.  Today's post is a simple dry brush manicure using one of my favorite Serendipity Polish's as a base.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Serendipity Polish - Vitamin Sea
  • Serendipity Polish - Building My Empire
  • ORLY - White Tips (seriously, why do I not own the white Serendipity??)
I don't know how I feel about this manicure.  First reaction is meh because I feel like the blue got muted with the black dry brush.  I saw this manicure on the interwebs where it was done with a mint base.  I loved it and thought it would look just as good on a blue base, but it just doesn't have the same pop to it.

I still love Vitamin Sea though.  Gorgeous blue polish which has full coverage in one coat.  I used two coats because I was doing the dry brush and I wanted the blue to really pop.

What do you think?  Like this manicure?  Think I should have used a different base??

Until next time, <3.

FingerPaints

The One With the Pineapple Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today??  It's Sunday which means tomorrow is Monday, which means it is the beginning of yet another work week.  Sigh.  Summer is flying by and I feel like I can't enjoy it because I live at work.  Well, that and the weather has kind of been really crappy the past few weeks.  Shockingly, we had three good days last week which kept me out until late enjoying the weather.  And with those late nights, I had some really ratchet looking nails, naked toes, and a full abandonment of my blog and Instagram.  Oops.

Since my last manicure was fruit themed, I thought I would share yet another fruit manicure.  This one being a pineapple design.  If you know me than you know I have a small, tiny obsession with pineapples.  I'm so happy I'm not the only one because going into a store and feeding this obsession has become quite easy.  Pineapple tote bags, tops, decorations....I'm in love.

Let's take a look at the manicure!

Colors Used:
  • FingerPaints - To The Plinth Degree
  • FingerPaints - Paper Mache
  • FingerPaints - Black Patent
Isn't it adorable??  I love the black outlined pineapple next to the neon yellow polish.  To the Plinth Degree by FingerPaints is an amazing neon yellow.  It reminds me of Glowstick by ORLY.  I had to put a white base under it because it's very sheer and on it's own it is not as bright as when it has that white base.  I did one coat of Paper Mache, then two coats of To the Plinth Degree.  What I like about this polish over ORLY's Glowstick is that it dries so much quicker.  On the brightness scale, it is exactly the same.

What do you think?  Like this manicure?  Love the neon yellow?

Until next time, <3.

China Glaze

The One With the Watermelon Nail Art

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  I'm not going to lie, I'm quite exhausted.  So exhausted that I was almost not going to put this post up because I didn't want to edit the photos.  I'm so happy with my decision to just post a bottle shot because it makes my editting life so much easier.

Today I am sharing a cute watermelon manicure.  Last year a bunch of people were doing this sideways watermelon design and I wanted to re-create it, but I didn't have the vinyls which everyone was using.  Then for some reason this year I realized I could totally free-hand this design and couldn't figure out why I didn't realize that before.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • China Glaze - Lime After Lime
  • China Glaze - Lip Smackin Good
  • ORLY - White Tips
  • ILNP - Mega X
  • Acrylics
Isn't it adorable??  The other manicures I've seen with this design usually just have pink nails for the middle and index finger, but I decided to switch it up.  You know me, I can't have plain nails.  I tried to have a plain pink index finger, but it just didn't look right to me, so I added the dots.  Plus, I found the formula on Lip Smackin' Good to be kind of funky, so it didn't look right without something on it.  The formula on Lime After Lime though was amazing.  Two coats and pretty neon perfection.

Now, how I created the look was I started off with a base coat of white polish.  When that was dried, I used Lip Smackin Good and Lime After Lime to fill in the different areas.  Kind of easier said than done with Lip Smackin' Good because again, the formula was kind of funky.

What do you think?  Fan of this manicure?  Something you would try?  Find the formula on Lip Smackin' Good to be weird??

 Until next time, <3.

Gradient Mani

The One With the ORLY Gradient Tape Manicure

Good morning polished world!  Welcome to Tuesday, the beginning of a new, busy work week.  I would have had this post up yesterday, but we had a lovely night of thunderstorms, which knocked my power out, which led me to not sleep, which meant I didn't get around to blogging at all.  I'm also at the end of my edited posts, so I really need to get my booty in gear and start working on this blog again.  I think I have six posts that need to be worked on?  Who knows....

Today's design is one I did a loooong time ago.  I honestly think I painted it back in March.  Yup, that's how long it sat in the drafts, waiting to be published.  The pictures were on my old laptop, and finally I pulled them over to the new laptop to edit.  Long story short, I stink at posting.

This manicure is a fun gradient, tape design using some of my favorite ORLY polishes.  Let's see if I can remember the names....

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • ORLY - Cool in California
  • ORLY - Frolic
  • ORLY - Be Daring
  • ORLY - Mirrorball
  • INM - Northern Lights
Isn't it wonderfully sparkly??  You all already know about my love for Mirrorball.  When Sally Beauty discontinued it, I literally bought 5 back up bottles because I was scared that ORLY themselves were discontinuing it.  Luckily, I can still get it from ORLY if worse came to worse, but I'm still on my original bottle, meaning that the 5 back ups have yet to be open.  I've owned my original bottle for over a year, it's three quarters gone, and it still applies as if the bottle was brand new.  That's what I love about ORLY, you really can use the polish until the bitter end.

One more shot so you can see that gorgeous gradient.  I love how well it blended together.  Such beautiful, opaque colors perfect for blending gradients.  I was surprised how well they applied over Mirrorball too with the tape design.  I wasn't sure if it would look as good as it did over the plain pink nail, but it did.  You would have never guessed that it was over just Mirrorball alone.

What do you think?  Like this design?  Something different, right??

Until next time, <3.

Happy Thursday polished world!!  I meant to post this yesterday, but you know, the days got away from me, again.  I really need to learn to pre-publish my posts.  Let's face it, I say that almost every post, yet it never happens....so I don't think it will be happening.

Today's manicure is a fun daisy design which I was inspired to do after scrolling through my Instagram and finding this design I did last year.  I decided to switch it up because I didn't want to do the same old, same old.  I feel like I'm always using silver as an accent, so I went with a gold and flipped around some of the designs, and got to work.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • OPI - Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet
  • OPI - Rich Girls and Po Boys
  • Zoya - Tomoko
  • White Acrylic
Cute, right?  I love how Tomoko offsets the yellow and blue polish.  Exotic Birds do Not Tweet is from the Fiji Collection.  I loved My Twin Mimmy and always was kicking myself for not getting a back up bottle of that gorgeous yellow, so when this polish came out, I made sure to purchase it.  Two coats and full coverage of this beauty.  I think I might have to do a yellow pedicure this summer....

Rich Girls and Po Boys is one of my favorite OPI blues.  Two coats, full coverage.  I do own a few back up bottles of this.  All of my OPI blues have duplicates now that I think about it.  They're just so magnificent.

What do you think?  Like this daisy design?  Fan of OPI yellows and blues?

Until next time, <3.

The One With ORLY See You Soon and Flowers

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you today??  It's Monday which means we are at the start of yet another fun filled work week.  If all goes well, part of the renovations at my job should be done come Friday, and if that's the case, I will be one happy girl.  Just in time for the next part to start, but hey at least I won't have to deal with 10 different things going on.

Today's manicure is a fun, bright, blue neon design using See You Soon from ORLY's Coastal Crush collection.  I am absolutely in love with this blue polish.  Just wait until you see it.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • ORLY - See You Soon
  • ORLY - White Tips
  • ORLY - Liquid Vinyl
  • ORLY - Up All Night
  • FingerPaints - Be Merry and Sparkle
Look at that blue polish!  You can really see how gorgeous it is on my pinkie finger.  Two coats and full shimmery coverage.  This polish reminds me of the shimmer version of Skinny Dip.  Okay, maybe this is a tad lighter, but regardless, it's wonderful.  I think it's my favorite from the Coastal Crush collection.

What do you think?  Like this design?  Something you would try?

I realize that summer technically just began, but I'm already excited for ORLY's Fall collection.  Cannot wait for it to arrive as part of the lovely Color Pass I purchased earlier in the year!

Until next time, <3.

Morgan Taylor

The One With the Morgan Taylor Tape Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today??  Fourth of July has come and gone.  I still haven't shared my June's monthly mani favorites.  I think I'm going to combine June and July because now I think it's just too late to start sharing now.  Maybe it isn't and I'm overthinking, but whatever.  June and July combo it will be.  If I remember.

After all that red, white, and blue, I needed a neutral manicure.  You know, something simple that just takes all the color away and really refreshes your manicured mind.  I also feel like I haven't done a neutral design in awhile so it was well overdue.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Morgan Taylor - Plumette With Excitement
  • ORLY - Liquid Vinyl

Plumette With Excitement is from the Morgan Taylor Beauty and the Beast collection.  A true beautiful nude pink polish.  Two coats and full coverage.  I was a little nervous that it wouldn't cover the black well for the tape manicure, but I was pleasantly surprised.

What do you think? Like this design?  Think the pink and black go well together??

Until next time, <3.

#TheNailArtSquad Does the Fourth of July

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world and Happy Fourth of July!!!!!  I can't believe that July is here.  I cannot believe that I forgot to post a June Monthly Mani Favs.  June really got away from me...and now we are here on the 4th and I have yet to post a mani favs.  Maybe I can still do one??  Or maybe I'll share it to Instagram?  Or maybe I'll just forget it this month.

Anyways, today I am posting alongside the lovely ladies of the Nail Art Squad.  It's been awhile since I've joined one of the collaborations and I've truly missed it.  I love being apart of this group of talented ladies and seeing what they come up with.  Plus, the little collage is always cute too.

Let's take a look at what I came up with today!

Colors Used:
  • Serendipity Polish - Holo Day Lights
  • Sally Hansen - Tidal Wave
  • ORLY - White Tips
  • OPI - Having a Big Head Day
Kind of different, right?? I was trying to go for a stars and stripe feel, but I didn't want to go with your every day stars and stripes if that makes sense.  I thought the chevrons would add a little flare and make it a tad different.  Then instead of doing stars, I went with dots, because dots are easier.

Now to see what everyone else did!

How cute are all of these manicures???  Sarah's pineapple is freaking adorable.  I honestly cannot pick which is my favorite.

What do you think?  Like my design?  Like the other girl's creations??

Hope everyone has a Happy and Safe 4th of July!

Until next time, <3.
