FingerPaints

The One With the Fingerpaints Floral Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Hello polished world and Happy Sunday to you all!!!  I've really failed at updating the blog, but I've been busy.  I know you've heard this about a million times, but I really need to pre-publish my posts.  Maybe when I do my next back of photo editing.  Ha, said that one before as well.  I also feel like I've been unmotivated when it comes to blogging because the weather was nice this week so I spent a lot of time outside and not inside.  Today though it's going to be in the 40s, so I'll work a tad on this.

Today's design is a spring floral design using one of my favorite purple polishes.  Glittery accent to cover up my middle finger nail injury.  It's growing out really nicely, but it's getting to that point where it's close to being fully grown out and I'm going to have to go to nub nails for a bit.  Ugh I hope I can still paint even when it's at that point.  We will see, I didn't think I was going to be painting this whole time and have been pleasantly surprised.

Let's take a look at today's design!

Colors Used:
  • FingerPaints - Lavender Love
  • ORLY - Mirrorball
  • ORLY - White Tips
Isn't it so Springy??  I don't know what type of flowers I'd call those...poppies...carnations?  Who knows, regardless they're cute.  I love how Mirrorball accents the whole manicure.  It's just perfect to me.

What do you think?  Fan of this look??

Until next time, <3.

Dot Mani

The One With the Sally Hansen Dot Manicure

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  It's Wednesday and it feels like a Thursday because the week has already been so busy.  Good news though, Spring is finally here!!!  Last week it was snowing, and this week it was in the high 60s low 70s.  Monday, I got to sit outside and take a walk around the village.  It was wonderful.

Since Spring is here, I feel I should clear out the blog of the "wintery" looking manicures.  You know, those designs I did when I wasn't feeling Spring-like at all.  This manicure is just a simple dot manicure I did using some of the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polishes.  If anyone has any details on how to properly hold one of these bottles, please share because they're so awkward!

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Sally Hansen - Blacky O
  • Sally Hansen - Silver Stallion
  • Sally Hansen - Petal to the Metal
  • Pure Ice - Spit Fire
I think I disliked this manicure just because I couldn't photograph it correctly because of that dang bottle.  Don't let the bottle sway your decision though in purchasing these Insta Dri beauties.  Silver Stallion covers in one coat and dries so fast.  I think this is my new favorite silver polish.  And you know me and how much I love silver.

What do you think? Fan of this design?  Seriously, does anyone know how to hold an Insta-Dri bottle?!

Until next time, <3.

Flowers

The One With the Zoya Floral Manicure

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  I forgot to post yesterday despite the fact I have dozens of manicures to share.  Ugh I'm such a failure at pre-publishing posts.  It is what it is though.  Maybe tonight I'll sit down and actually do it.  Highly doubt it though seeing as I need to paint my nails.  I met up with two friends who I haven't seen in awhile last night so my nails are looking pretty messy today because last night was a nail painting night.  It's okay though because I had fun!

Today's design is a floral one.  Spring has not really shown it's face much around here, so I'm feeling floral, but not really in the Spring-y colors...yet.  I say that because when it was warm a few weeks ago I did a few bright pastel floral designs but decided on not sharing them until it got warm again.  Now today it's going to be in the 50s so I could share one of those bright ones, but I don't believe the weather is going to stick around, so here comes the darker transition floral.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Zoya - Odette
  • ORLY - White Tips
  • Serendipity Polish - Sunshine Rainbow
I forgot how pretty Odette is by Zoya.  I've used it a few times, but it's in my neutral nude drawer so I easily forget about it.  Two coats and full coverage of this beauty.  It works so well with the gold accent nail.  I love the floral design too.  Simple and pretty.

What do you think?  Like this floral look?

Until next time, <3.

Animal Print

The One With the ORLY Leopard Print Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world.  How are you all doing today??  I'm sorry I meant to post yesterday but it totally slipped my mind.  I've been resting a lot trying to kick this illness and it's working.  Good news, I have a lot of posts ready to go, bad news is I'm just failing at posting them.  Maybe tomorrow I'll sit and pre-publish all of them.  My monthly mani favs at this point are going to be nothing.  I did just get an amazing PR package from Sally Hansen so I'm thrilled my nail is holding up from the injury so I can play with them!

I also just realized I wore my last manicure for four days which is abnormal for me, so that's probably why I didn't remember to post this manicure.  Just a fun leopard design I did to break up all the florals that I've been doing.  Seriously, be prepared, I feel like I've done 4 in a row.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • ORLY - Liquid Vinyl
  • ORLY - White Tips
  • ORLY - Mirrorball
  • ORLY - For the First Time
Kind of love the color combination.  It's been quite some time since I've done a leopard print.  It was really late the other night when I sat down to paint, so the easiest thing I could think of was a leopard.  For the First Time is one of my favorite ORLY polishes, so it made sense to match it with my all time favorite Mirrorball.  The black, purple, and silver holo....just a wonderful combo.

What do you think?  Fan of this look?

Until next time, <3.

Flowers

The One With the Pure Ice Floral Manicure

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  I finally went to the doctor on Friday, and well I was pretty sick.  So here I am, on antibiotics, which are messing with me, but good news is I can finally breathe again.  I'm not one for going to the doctor, but Friday was my breaking point when I walked up a flight of stairs and I could barely breath when I got to the top.  At least we are in the middle of an ice storm so I have no reason to leave my bed and I can finally rest up and get better.  Let's just hope the power stays on.

Today's manicure is a floral one.  Be prepared, I'm on a floral kick lately thanks to all the floral designs popping up on Pinterest.  They all probably look the same, but I'm kind of limited right now since I have to have my middle finger be a glittery accent due to the lovely injury.  The design I'm sharing with you today was done before the injury so it's one of the last ones where I was able to have a cream on my middle finger.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Pure Ice - Teal Appeal
  • OPI - Do You Take Lei-Away?
  • Some Sally Hansen Miracle Gels I can't remember the names of.....
Just realized I'm posting a manicure using a Pure Ice polish during an ice storm.  Didn't mean to do that at all, but it's such a funny coincidence.  Teal Appeal is...well not named appropriately in my opinion.  Now in the bottle it does look like a deep teal, but on the nail it really as you can see is a deep blue.  Well it does kind of lean towards the teal end of the spectrum.

This polish is amazing and covers pretty much in one coat.  Now, I used two because you know me and my need for two coats of polish.  It was so shiny and really didn't chip at all.  I'm very much impressed with this polish.  Thank you to FashionFooting for gifting it to me!

Loving the floral design here.  Since the weather hasn't been super springy, this is one of those winter/spring transition floral designs.  I really like the final design.

What do you think?  Ever used any Pure Ice polishes?

Until next time, <3.

Gradient Mani

The One With the Pastel Paint Drip Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today??  I'm still sick.  I'm still tired.  I'm still stressed.  Good news though, my nail is still intact from the injury so I'm still able to paint it.  I'm getting scared though because the injury part is starting to get close to the end of the nail, which means I'm going to have nubs when that happens.  So really I should be holding off on posting because I'll probably have nothing if the piece falls off all together.  I'm jumping to conclusions, because I didn't think I'd be painting at all and I have been.  It kind of works to the blogs advantage that I've been busy, sick, and stressed because then that just means I have more posts if and when I can't paint.

Anyways, today's manicure is a pastel sponge design with a black paint drip over it.  I don't even know where my inspiration came from this design, other than I was scrolling around my Instagram and came across my Halloween paint drip design.  I loved how they looked, so I wanted to make a spring-ish themed one.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • ORLY - White Tips
  • INM - Mystical Stones
  • INM - Humanity
  • INM - Celine's Jelly Bean
  • INM - Northern Lights

Obsessed with the final look of this design.  A little time consuming, but I think it was totally worth it.  I started off with a base coat of white polish.  When that was dried, I ripped apart a make up sponge and started sponging the random colors on my nail.  I started off with Mystical Stones (the purple), and then added the blue (Humanity), and filled in the empty spots with the pink (Celine's Jelly Bean).

When the sponge design was dried, I went over it with a quick coat of Northern Lights.  This blended together the sponging and made it look like a fun gradient.  Since Northern Lights dries in literally two seconds, I was able to start adding my paint drips with acrylic black.  This part always takes the most time because of my perfectionist brain.  I'm so proud of how they turned out though!

What do you think?  Fan of this look?  Does anyone read this blog anymore? lol

Until next time, <3.

Dot Mani

The One With the OPI Dot Mani

9:00:00 AM

Hey all!  How are you all doing today?  Me personally, I am again a bit under the weather.  I am starting to believe that I have some form of pneumonia from when I was sick last month.  This weekend I just was knocked down that it took everything in me to go to the store to buy food for work.  I literally think I've slept most of the past 24 hours and feel like I could fall asleep right now.

So with that, today's post is going to be super fast.  This is a dot manicure I did a few weeks ago using some blue polishes.  I think I did it shortly after Valentine's Day after being tired of all the red/pinks.  That's actually more than a few weeks ago.

Let's take a look.

Colors Used:
  • OPI - Eurso Euro
  • OPI - I Believe in Manicures
Kind of messy but really liking the look.  I started off with a base coat of I Believe in Manicures.  When it was dried, I took Eurso Euro and painted half the nail.  Probably should have used a more creamy polish because this one was kind of sheer and it took awhile for me to get it just how I wanted it on the nail.  Regardless, it didn't have to be perfect because the white dots up the middle cover the line not being completely perfect.

What do you think?  Like this design??

Until next time, <3.

Monthly Mani Favs

The Super Late March #MonthlyManiFavs

9:00:00 AM

Welcome to April, lovelies!  So remember how I cut my fingernail half off?  Yeah, I do.  I've been in mourning and forgetting about the blog because of said mourning.  Plus I'm holding off on sharing my posts so I don't run out of content while it grows out.  Here's the good news, the injury is in such a place that I'm able to seal the nail down with some New Skin and paint over it.  Therefore, I've now painted my nails twice in a two week period.  I'm being cautious because I'm just scared something might happen to it.  I think when the injury gets to the end of the nail, then I really will have to put a hiatus on painting because I'll have uber nubs.

Anyways, I'll count my blessings that I have a backlog of posts, and I'm slowly able to paint.  But alas, I have forgotten to post this Monthly Mani Favs post in a timely manner.  I came to post an old design and saw the draft for this.  Oh well, better late than never.

Let's take a look.

  • The One With Cirque Colors Paraiba - So I got 8 Cirque polishes last year, and I think have only used one up until this manicure.  I don't know why I've held off because look how gorgeous that is!!!  Ugh perfect polish, fun abstract design.
  • The One With the Interlocking Dot Manicure - ILNP Music Box is one of my all time favorite holo polishes.  Mint + Holo = perfection.  The interlocking dot design is one of my favorites, and this polish mixed with the black.  Totally loved it.
  • The One With the Easter Bunnies - Pretty much my only Easter design I did before the big injury.  Sigh, I had so many planned.  This one though is beyond adorable and you can see why I do it almost every year.
  • The One With the Springy Floral Design - Ahhhh my first real Spring manicure this year!  Too bad that it's cold as hell out and it's not looking to get warmer anytime soon.  This design really is one of my favorites because of the color combo.
What do you think?  Which one was your favorite?

Alright, I'll remember to post from here on out, injury or not!

Until next time, <3.
