Color Club

The One With the Color Club Dot Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today??  I forgot to post yesterday because Memorial Day completely threw me off.  I really thought today was Tuesday, and yesterday was Monday.  It was even more confusing to me because my three day weekend ended up being an odd two day one since I had to work partially on Sunday.  Sigh.  One day I'll have a three-day weekend.

Well since I have sat binge watching Arrested Development, I haven't had time to edit photos, which I really need to get around to.  Therefore I'm posting this old dot manicure, which I have done numerous times before.  Actually going back through the blog, I did this exact manicure last year with the same colors.  Reason being, they're my favorite colors and it's one of my go-to easy designs when I'm completely exhausted.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Color Club - Blue-Ming
  • Color Club - Pucci-licious
  • OPI - This Crown Needs a Gown
Love this color combo, love these polishes, just love everything about it.  That would explain why I re-did the exact manicure without even remembering it.  Seriously, I had no idea I did this manicure until I searched the Color Club tag on the blog and stumbled upon it.  Does that mean I've done too many manicures that I can't remember what I have already done?

What do you think?  Like these colors and dot mani?

Until next time, <3.

FingerPaints

The One With Another Floral Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing on this Friday?  It's almost time for the weekend.  I'm excited, tomorrow I'm going to Painting With a Twist for my friend's birthday!  It's going to be a fun sunflower painting.  My first time I went, the painting turned out really well and I absolutely loved it.  Who knows, maybe because it's a floral design, I'll rock it.  You know me and my love for florals.  I'll post a picture on Instagram if it turns out well!

Today's design is, can you guess, a floral one!!!!!  Sure it's not sunflowers, but it's one of my last spring time floral designs before I start getting into my summer florals!  Daisies, sunflowers, little forget-me-nots.  Ahhh how I love the summer floral season.  Do florals even have a season or is it just a year round thing?  hmmm....

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • FingerPaints - Party Teal Dawn
  • Zoya - Tomoko
I'm going to stop listing the white polish I used in my posts.  If I don't list it, it's a safe bet that it's ORLY White Tips.  If I'm doing a review of white, then I'll for sure share it, but I think it's getting annoying listing my same polish over and over again.  Probably should only list the polish I'm holding.....

Anyways, I love Party Teal Dawn.  Older polish of mine but still works like I just got it yesterday.  Two coats and full coverage.  Gosh I miss FingerPaints.  I used to get their PR packages, then they just stopped coming, and I haven't had any time to get to Sally Beauty so I really have forgotten about them.  Shame too, because they are one of my favorite brands.

What do you think?  Fan of this polish?  Fan of this manicure?

Until next time, <3.

China Glaze

The One With the Random Blue Triangle Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Morning my polished peeps.  How are you all doing on this wonderful Tuesday?  Look at me, posting right on time.  Okay, I'm a day or so early, but you know I have about 8 posts to share with you and have been slacking like crazy.  And let's face it, come the end of the week, I'm going to forget to post again.  Maybe if I set reminders in my phone or something.  You know what I really need reminders for are my Instagram and Facebook page.  Poor Facebook hasn't been updated in I don't know how long.....sigh

Today's design is one that looked better in my head than it did on the nail.  I'm still rocking that glitter middle accent nail due to the nail injury.  My injury is right at the edge now and I'm worried I'm going to lose that part of my nail.  I've been patching it using the tea bag method and hoping it stays on until it grows out.  Enter in the nub nails and and super thick odd paint jobs.

Anyways, as I said, this design looked more abstract and better in my head than it did on the nail.

Let's take a look....

Colors Used:
  • China Glaze - Capacity to See Beyond
  • Finger Paints - Sterling Sculpture
I can't remember what grey polish I used for the grey triangles, but meh, I don't think anyone will try to re-create this one because it is one of those meh manicures.  Only think that is saving it is the lovely Capacity to See Beyond.  I guess I have that name is fitting for this manicure because I was capable of seeing beyond the horribleness of the design and saw the gorgeous blue polish. That's the cheesiest line I've ever written on this blog.....

What do you think of this design?  Something you don't hate?

Until next time, <3.

Dot Mani

The One With the Sally Hansen Peach Dot Flowers

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world! How are you all doing today?  I am failing when it comes to blogging.  I swear I'm going to get better next month.  Tomorrow evening I'm going to sit down, prepublish all my posts to the end of the month and beyond, and just keep moving forward.  When I sat down last night and realized I had 8 manicures to post,  I realized how badly I've been slacking.  Oh well, that just means more content throughout the year.

Today's manicure is a simple dot floral manicure.  Been forever since I had done a dot manicure, and honestly this one wasn't one of my favorites.  I felt like there was a lot of naked space around the dot flowers, so I kind of got crazy with the silver dots and that made me not so happy.  Like it took away from the design.  I have to start learning that blank space is a good thing.

Let's take a look.

Colors Used:
  • Sally Hansen - Peach Buzz
  • Sally Hansen - White on White
  • Serendipity Polish - Holoday Lights
While not one of my favorite manicures, but definitely in love with Peach Buzz from Sally Hansen.  Two coats and full coverage.  This polish has a subtle peach shimmer mixed in with the cream that really gives the polish some dimension.  Works great for the nail art and dot flowers.

What do you think?  Like this design? Fan of this color?

Until next time, <3.

Dot Mani

The One With the OPI Dot Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  It's Wednesday, which means we are slap dab right in the middle of the week.  Look at me actually posting despite it being the middle of the week.  Usually the days kind of run into each other and I forget what day it is, then I forget to post.  It's a really weird circle of timing.

Today's design is a simple dot manicure I did one night when I was super uninspired and just needed to paint my nails and go to bed.  Literally did this design around 11pm and was all tucked into bed by midnight.  I'm actually shocked I got it to look as good as it did considering how rushed I was and how tired I was.

Let's take a look.

Colors Used:
  • OPI - Can't Find my Czechbook
  • OPI - Kiss Me I'm Brazilian
  • OPI - Champagne For Breakfast
Love the color combination here.  I have two bottles of Can't Find my Czechbook because it's one of my favorite polishes, and yet I never use it.  I think I'm going to use this pretty teal blue for some pedicures this summer.  Maybe with a holo top coat.  It would look marvelous.

I also forgot that Champagne for Breakfast is a textured holo polish.  I just wanted to use all OPI for this manicure and wanted the holo accent, so imagine how happy I was when I re-discovered this was a textured polish.  I think the textured polishes look great as an accent nail too.  I need to bust out my Zoya Pixies and use them more.  And I'm not just talking about Tomoko.

What do you think?  Simple design?  Does anyone read the blog anymore? lol

Until next time, <3.

Flowers

The One With the Sally Hansen Floral

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  Happy Mother's Day to all you momma's out there!  Cannot believe we are already almost halfway through May.  Where did the time go?!  It's just crazy, but I think I'm losing track of time because there's so much going on at once!  The weather at least is getting nicer, so that means I'm going to start becoming antsy and not want to ever be at work.

Anyways, today's design is a floral manicure using one of my favorite red polishes from Sally Hansen.  Perfect for me to post today since it is Mother's Day and my momma's favorite polish color is red.  It's the only polish I've ever seen her wear, and really the reds in my collection are mainly used by her.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • Sally Hansen - Let's Jam
  • Sally Hansen - White on Time
  • China Glaze - Bring on the Bubbly

Absolutely love this manicure.  And for someone who doesn't love red, that speaks volumes.  Let's Jam is one of my favorite red polishes because it's not a true bright red.  There are pink undertones which really makes it unique in comparison to other reds in my collection.

What do you think of the design?  Love the floral pattern as much as I do?  Think accenting with gold was a good idea?

Until next time, <3.

Animal Print

The One With the Blue Zebra Print Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  Tuesday is upon us and the work week is in full swing.  I'm hoping to have a calmer week compared to last, but I doubt that will happen.  Wishful thinking, am I right?  We are having GORGEOUS weather, which means I can start wearing my Spring/Summer dresses again!  Love this time of year.  Okay, probably everyone around me doesn't love it because I'm pale as a ghost and blinding everyone, but I love it.

Today's design is a fun, funky zebra print I did before the great nail injury of 2018.  It's been saved in the draft folder to share when I was getting tired of sharing manicures all with that silver or gold accent nail.  Update on the injury, it's almost to the edge of my nail, meaning probably in another week or so I can go back to painting my nails without a middle glitter accent.

Let's take a look at today's manicure!

Colors Used:
  • ORLY - White Tips
  • INM - Misty Blue
  • INM - Cotton Candy Dandy
  • INM - Northern Lights
  • Acrylic

Isn't it neat?!  Super simple design to create.  First you start off with a base of white polish.  I used my favorite, ORLY White Tips.  When that was dried, I sponged INM Cotton Candy Dandy, a light blue polish, on my nail randomly.  Then in I went back through and sponged Misty Blue in the blank white area making sure not to cover all the white or fully overlap the light blue.  When that was dried, I added a quick coat of INM Northern Lights to blend the sponged colors, and add a little sparkle.

I then went through with a small nail art brush and a black acrylic and added the zebra print.  It's been forever since I've done one but this design is like riding a bike.  Super easy, super quick and doesn't have to be perfect.  Added another top coat and called it a night.

What do you think?  Fan of this look?  Something you'd try?

I just realized I haven't done an actual gradient manicure in some time.  Hmmm, should probably do one again soon!

Until next time, <3.

Dry Brush Mani

The One With the Abstract Dry Brush Manicure

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing on this wonderful Saturday?  I'm sooooo happy this work week is over.  Hello sleeping in, hello enjoying the weather!  Well, I hope the weather is going to be decent this weekend.  It has been wonderful the past few days.  Nothing was nicer than having my window open in my office enjoying the nice breeze.

Since it's been warmer, I decided to grab some more fun bright colors and do a fun abstract dry brush manicure.  I saw something similar on Pinterest and switched it up a bit because you know, that fun injured nail that has to stay as a glittery accent.  I tried to paint it with a cream polish the other day and you could see the indent so badly.  It's so close to growing out so I'm getting nervous about what's going to happen over the next few weeks.  We will see.

Anyways, let's take a look at today's manicure!

Colors Used:
  • Serendipity Polish - Pink Poinsettiaa
  • Serendipity Polish - Orange County Girl
  • Serendipity Polish - Holoday Lights
  • Serendipity Polish - #GoalDigger
Isn't this an awesome manicure?!  I love the color combination.  Then that abstract dry brush design!?  Can't get much better than this.  I need to start doing more abstract manicures like this.  It was super simple to do, but it's one of those designs where it looks like it took 5 years to do.

What do you think?  Like this design?  Miss Serendipity Polish like I do?

Until next time, <3.

Monthly Mani Favs

The One with April's #MonthlyManiFavs

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  I swear, the month of May is going to be my blogging comeback month.  I just editted like 5 posts of photos, I did this Monthly Mani Favs post, and I have a bunch of nail art ideas going through my head.  We will see how long this all lasts.

Spring is FINALLY here.  Maybe not even Spring seeing as it's going to be 80 degrees today, it's more like Summer.  I'm planning on moving my desk outside and working out there all day.  That's allowed, right?  I mean, I am the boss and all.

Well, let's get right to April's Monthly Mani Favs.  Not many to chose form since, you know, I failed at blogging this past month.  Sigh.

Let's take a look!

  1. The One With the Zoya Floral Manicure - Love this floral design.  It was perfect when the weather was crappy even though it was Spring.  Odette by Zoya is truly a great Winter/Spring transition polish.
  2. The One With the Pastel Paint Drip Manicure - Does this manicure need an explanation as to why it's one of my favorites this month?!  Love that pastel sponge back ground with the black paint drip over the top.  I also love how the paint drip design kind of looks 3D over the sponge design.
  3. The One With the FingerPaints Floral Manicure - Absolutely love this design.  Perfect Spring floral accented with my favorite holo polish of all time.  As you can see, I am feeling the floral manicures.
  4. The One With the Pure Ice Floral Manicure - Last but not least, another floral!  Loving this polish by Pure Ice.  So shiny, so perfect, and covered in one coat.  A polish girl's dream.
What do you think?  Like any of these designs?  Hate them?

Until next time, <3.
