Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat Versus Big Shiny Top Coat

9:00:00 AM

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  It's Friday!  Not Thursday like my mind thinks.  These dang three day weekends which throw me off.  Oh well, what can you do?  I enjoyed my three day weekend, so that's all that matters.

As promised yesterday, today I am sharing with you a comparison of the Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat and Big Shiny Top Coat.

Let's take a look!

The Big Matte Top Coat might be my new favorite matte top coat!  OPI's Matte topper has been my go to for awhile now, but I sadly think it's going to get kicked to the curb.  Now, I applied the Big Shiny top coat first before applying this so I probably should have switched my comparison around, but whatever.  I always apply a shiny top coat before applying a matte because I find that whenever you apply a matte topper to nail art, the art smudges.  I didn't want to smudge my art since I had the lovely migraine, so I did my normal routine.  After the Big Shiny Top Coat was dry, I added one coat of the matte.

Super glossy while applying so you can tell where you applied it too.  It then dried matte super fast.  I've had other matte top coats that give you a brush stroke look or make the polish underneath shrink, and this does none of that.  Super smooth look and perfect matte look.

The Big Shiny Top Coat is awesome!  Super super shiny, and while it doesn't say that it's a quick dry, I found that it dried rather fast.  No shrinking, easy application, and didn't flood my cuticles like some other brand new bottles of top coat does.  I can see this being my backup topcoat.  I use INM Out the Door because I use a crap ton of top coat and can get it in a large 73ml bottle.  So I usually save top coats like this for when mine is running low or I use them for pedicures.

Anyways, both top coats are amazing and I suggest getting them.  Both top coats are available now on Sally Hansen's website and at your local drug store for $5.99 each.  Not to bad considering what the cost of OPI or Essie's matte topper.

Until next time, <3.
