Hey girl hey!  How are you all doing on this fine Monday?  Can you believe it, another Monday.  And, we are finally in the month of March.  I don't know why I'm saying finally, it feels like just yesterday it was Christmas.  Time is flying by fast, but it's okay, that just means more exciting things are coming our way.  Right?  I'm trying to be more optimistic in this crazy world.

Today's design is being dug out of the archives over here on The Little Canvas.  A fun mint and silver color block manicure using one of my favorite Color Club polishes.  I need to organize and start using my close to 200 new bottles of polish, but alas, life gets in the way each weekend and I get delayed. Maybe I'll take some time off of work so I can bring you new colors and new content.

Am I the only one who doesn't see the blue in Blue-Ming but only sees the minty green goodness?  Maybe I'm color blind.  We truly won't ever know.  What we do know is that it's a gorgeous polish which is the perfect pop of color for this manicure.  This is a popular design that people were doing a few years back with a salmon pink color.  I had to be different, especially since I think I've done the salmon one in the past.


I need to work on my free hand color blocking though.  That black line isn't as perfect as I'd like it to be.  Despite the imperfection, I do think that's what makes this design so wonderful.

The One With the Blue Gradient Snow Flake Mani

Happy Snowstorm Day to you all!!!  The East Coast is being hit with a lovely storm today bringing upwards of 18 inches where I live.  I'm not going to lie to all of you, but I adore the winter and the snow.  Something about it is so peaceful.  Maybe because everyone is inside and the hustle and bustle of life just slows down a bit.  And since today is a federal holiday, it will only be the "essential" workers out on the roads making it again a little quieter.  Sure, healthcare has been a nightmare lately, but I think today will be a good day.

Today's design is a spin of one I've done the last two years, except instead of using pink, I opted for a blue design.  Then while going through my drawers, I found a glitter with blue flecks for the accent nail, and it all just came together.  I was beyond upset with this design chipped off, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

I just painted these nails a week ago, and for the life of me cannot recall what the darker blue polish is that I used for the gradient.  I'm so angry at myself over this!!!  I want to say it's one of my darker Serendipity Polish throwbacks, but who even knows anymore.  I'm telling you, I am slowly but surely losing my mind.  Regardless, the blues came together to create the most perfect blue gradient which SCREAMS winter.  My love for blue deepened after I had this beauty on my nails.


Once that gradient was dry, I went to work on the snowflake.  Not my best work but not my worst either.  I love how it turned out.  Then matched with Be Merry and Sparkle, the whole thing came together beautifully.  The pictures make the glitter look more turquoise, but I swear it was more blue tinged and paired perfectly.  I think I'll have to use it again soon.

The One that Kind of Looks like an Arizona Iced Tea Can

Good morning, Polished World!  How are you all doing today?  Of course, I have failed at switching the blog over to the other platform, so now I'm behind on posting.  Everything works out for a reason though because I had a major break on my left hand so I'm letting the nails grow again so I can reshape them and get them back into better shape.  I'm thinking midweek I'll be back into the nail art.

Even though my nails are short, and I have a plethora of designs that are from a few weeks ago, I decided to go back into the vault for today's manicure.  Since the weather is going to get warmer, I felt that it's time to share this fun design.  Shocker, but I believe it was inspired by SRG.Nails.  To be honest, I can't remember since I painted this manicure in November. Yes, you read that right, November.  I was having some seasonal depression clearly and wanted to brighten things up then.

Now, I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty sure that pink is a polish but again, I painted it in November and I have no clue what color pink it is.  I'm actually shocked I remembered the golds I used for the accent.  The dots gave it away because Faby Polish Panic on Wall Street is a gorgeous gold which has wonderful coverage for nail art.  It's become one of my go-to gold polishes.


I think we can all agree though that this manicure gives off that Arizona Iced Tea can vibe.  I really loved how the whole design came together.  I think I'm going to re-create it with some different colors.  Oooo maybe a red, white and blue for the Fourth of July?

The One With the Floppy Ear Easter Bunny Manicure

Happy April 1st everyone!  Can you believe it, here we are at another April Fools Day.  Now, I was going to take today off of work for the Easter weekend, but alas, I'm off to work this morning.  Not a day of rest when you work in healthcare.  I do love my job, I'm just a tad bit tired heading into this weekend.  I feel like last week it was really slow, and this week is draaagggging and jam packed.

Despite the crazy work week, I have made sure to find time to paint my nails for Easter.  Nothing super creative this year as I'm feeling rather nostalgic and re-visiting some of my favorite designs.  One of those being the floppy eared Easter bunny using two of my favorite colors from Color Club.  I switched up the layout of the design compared to past years, but the main accent is still the same.

  • Some random silver polish with a silver glitter topper
See, told you I'd last one post with writing down the polish names before I'd forget to do it again.  I think the silver is an old Serendipity Polish and the glitter is by FingerPaints.  Honestly, I'm too lazy to go into my drawers which are about five feet away from me and look.  That's what happens when you schedule your posts ahead of time and write them all at midnight.


Regardless of the fact that I'm super lazy and horrible at remember polish colors, this manicure is beyond adorable.  I think it's one of the best floppy ear guys I've ever painted.  I like the layout of this polish too where I used more Blue-Ming.  Previously I've done it with all Pucci-licious or had only one Blue-Ming accent.

Both of these polishes I've owned since I started blogging and both apply as if they were brand new.  Color Club's formula is amazing and I really need to start looking into adding more of their polishes into my collection.

The One With the Spider Webs

Good morning, Polished World!  Yes, I'm still alive.  I keep meaning to put up a post about where I've been but everytime I go to write it, I just end up falling asleep.  Not to mention, I didn't have any nail art to post afterwards so I didn't want to bring the blog back with no content.  Now, I have content and I'm just too lazy to write the post about where I've been.  If you follow me on Instagram, then you've seen a few updates about my life and how the pandemic really turned my life upside down.  I don't want to get into it fully because I still kind of want to write that post.

Until then, I'm here to share with you Halloween manicures!!!  Yes, my favorite time of the year when the holiday themed manicures can start.  For the past few years, I've tried to do Halloween designs throughout the whole month of October. In September, I dusted off my nail art brushes, dotting tools, and practiced a bit with some floral designs so I could head into October 100% ready.

On Instagram, I saw an awesome spider web manicure by SRG.Nails and I knew right away that was going to be my first manicure of the season.  Of course, I was a little shaky on my spider webs, but overall, I am obsessed with this manicure.

Alright so they mega changed Blogger since I last posted so it is taking me a solid minute to figure out the new logos to get hyperlinks, spacing, bullets, etc.  It all pretty much in the same spots, but goodness, I'm too old and don't adapt well to change.  I also need to learn patience but that's a whole different story.  I really need to write that post on where I've been!


Look at me rambling, yet again. Isn't this manicure fabulous?  Pucci-Licious is a polish I have owned for at least 7 years and it still applies as if it were brand new.  Perfect purple for this time of year.  I love how the black spider web pops on top of it.  The best part?  Mega X!  It is the perfect accent for this design.  I really wish I could have done my white spider webs as silver ones like SRG.Nails did, but I really couldn't manipulate my silver polish that way. So, I cheated and used acrylic paint.

The One With the Color Club Dry Brush Manicure

Good morning polished world!  How are you on this wonderful Sunday? I apologize for not blogging this week, but I'm not going to lie, Daylight Savings really messed me up last week and I haven't been able to get used to this whole time change.  Earlier nights equals less blogging time.  Although I've still been creating nail art, therefore I'm going to have a lot of content coming up!

On top of Daylight Savings, tomorrow we are supposed to get our first real accumulation of snow.  While we had our first snowfall last week, this one will probably last a tad longer seeing as they're predicting about 4-8 inches.  Since the snow is coming, I thought it was appropriate to post this light blue dry brush manicure.  The blue polish reminds me of cold and snow....kind of.

  • Cannot remember the name of the silver because it was awhile ago.....
Meet me at the Rink was part of the Poptastic Pastel neon collection that came out years ago.  I purchased it yeaaaars ago and the beauties just sit in my collection rarely touched.  I forget how much I love them.  Sure, the formula isn't 100% wonderful, but if you have some patience you can get complete coverage in two coats.



The dry brush nail is one of my favorites.  The purple, the blue, the silver, then the little abstract design....all perfect.  I wish I did all 10 of my nails with this design.  Maybe next time.

The One With the Floppy Eared Easter Bunny

Good morning polished world!!  How are you doing tonight?  I'm babying yet another injury to my right hand.  You might remember that a few weeks ago I ripped my middle finger nail half off in the freezer.  Yes, that's right, I somehow jammed my finger and half my fingernail ripped right off.  That grew back, and of course broke yesterday but that's not the injury I'm talking about. 

Friday night I was making a pot of sauce and was opening a can of crushed tomatoes.  The can opener was being a little testy and the can didn't open right away.  My smart self decided to push on the lid to hopefully loosen it.  Well, it loosened, and my finger went right into the can....and you can just imagine how my thumb looks right now.  Thankfully I didn't need any stitches, but it's still not pretty.  Thanks to some clever bandaging, I'm able to use my thumb and can paint my nails.  It just is awkward holding things a little differently than normal.  I'm so blessed that the injury isn't worse because let me tell you, it really could have been.

Long story short, in my last post I talked about delaying my Easter manicures because I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to paint.  I should have never said it, because look at me now, injured.  At least I did delay the post because that means I will have enough to share up until Easter.  Including today's manicure!

Now, you might be saying "Alaina, this is a twist on the floppy ear design you have done year after year." And you're correct, to an extent.  I didn't come up with this cute nail art; 100% credit goes to SRG.Nails on Instagram.  I'm in love with her manicures and I feel I'm just re-creating all of her designs over and over again.



I was so happy to see her design because I was sitting down to re-create my manicure that I've done year after year, but I was getting kind of bored of it.  While it's one of my favorites, I just wasn't really feeling it.  I needed a switch up, and this manicure was that.  Same concept, same color scheme, just a different, adorable layout.  And adding that outline to the bunny was pure genius on her part.  Pain in the butt to do because the area is so small, but look at how cute it is!!!  I'm so proud of my little bow.

The One With the Smoosh Snowflake Manicure

Good morning polished world!!!  How are you all doing today??  It is bitterly cold here and we are preparing for Winter Storm Harper!  We are in a weird path right now where we aren't sure if we are going to get inches of snow, or feet.  You all are going to think I'm weird, but I'm low key hoping for a few feet of snow.  I love just one big snow fall and then I'm ready for Spring.  There's something about that large snowfall covering the world in sparkly white that is just so pretty.

Since we are heading into a snow storm filled weekend, of course I am sharing with you another snowflake manicure!  This for sure is one of my favorites.  I was on Instagram and saw a smoosh manicure done by NailsUponATime.  She was inspired by a tutorial by GrapeFizzNails.  Ladies and Gents, you need to go to her instagram and take a look at that tutorial!  I have been complicating the smoosh manicure!!!  Her way is so much easier and I received a perfect smoosh every.single.time.

Obsessing over the color combination.  I searched "blue smoosh mani" on Pinterest and came across one by my friend Sarah over at 25 Sweet Peas which I had to re-create.  She used two Zoyas, whereas I don't have two Zoyas which would have worked, but I did have Dream which made life perfect.  After painting my nails with two coats of Meet Me at the Rink, I followed GrapeFizzNails tutorial using Meet Me at the Rink and Dream.


Once the nails were smooshed, I went over it with a light coat of INM Northern Lights which really made the base pop and added to the sparkle of Dream.  I then went through with acrylic and drew on the snowflakes, which took me forever.  My OCD was in overdrive with these because I wanted them to look perfect on top of this perfect, gorgeous smoosh base.

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today??  I forgot to post yesterday because Memorial Day completely threw me off.  I really thought today was Tuesday, and yesterday was Monday.  It was even more confusing to me because my three day weekend ended up being an odd two day one since I had to work partially on Sunday.  Sigh.  One day I'll have a three-day weekend.

Well since I have sat binge watching Arrested Development, I haven't had time to edit photos, which I really need to get around to.  Therefore I'm posting this old dot manicure, which I have done numerous times before.  Actually going back through the blog, I did this exact manicure last year with the same colors.  Reason being, they're my favorite colors and it's one of my go-to easy designs when I'm completely exhausted.

Love this color combo, love these polishes, just love everything about it.  That would explain why I re-did the exact manicure without even remembering it.  Seriously, I had no idea I did this manicure until I searched the Color Club tag on the blog and stumbled upon it.  Does that mean I've done too many manicures that I can't remember what I have already done?

China Glaze

The One With the Tribal Manicure

Good morning polished world!!!  How are you all doing today?  It's Thursday but it feels like it should be a Friday.  It's been a long week so far but I have gotten a lot accomplished.  I have edited photos, pre-published some posts, and got all my Christmas lights up on the house before the winter storm this weekend.  Yeah, you are reading that right, we are expecting a winter storm before Thanksgiving.  It's been such a weird Fall, especially since all the leaves are still on the trees, but it's almost the end of November.

Today's manicure is a cute tribal design.  I've done this exact tribal look before, just on a different base.  I should start switching up my free-hand designs, but the evening I did this manicure it was late, I was tired, and not really feeling too creative.  Regardless, I'm in love with how it turned out.

Isn't that gradient amazing??  I used the original formula of Flip Flop Fantasy for this design.  You know, the one that is more pink than coral.  I hate when polish companies change their formulas and you are forced to sparingly use your favorite until the bitter end.  I probably couldn't get a coat of my original Flip Flop Fantasy on my nail if I tried, therefore it's a gradient only polish.  I love how it looks mixed with Blue-Ming.

Big Hair and Bubbly is my new favorite gold glitter.  This polish is from China Glaze's new holiday collection.  The girl's at my local Sally Beauty let me have a sneak peek of the collection at the beginning of November and I picked out my four favorites - all being glitters.  Kind of shocking since I never wear glitter polishes, but I did this in hopes I start using my glitters again.  After using this one, I for sure will.  It applied wonderfully over a base of gold polish.  No need for dabbing or placing any of the large pieces.  Happy to have this because all of my gold glitter are either dried up, or have holo pieces.

The One With the Color Club Dot Manicure

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  It's Tuesday and I'm already looking forward to Friday.  Work is busy, life is busy, my car got hit in the parking lot.  It's always something.  I just need a break...maybe a nice weekend at a spa somewhere.  Amanda tells me I should go visit her, and I have to agree.

Today I'm sharing a simple manicure I did last week at about midnight when my nails were all bashed and gross looking and needed something because I had to work in the morning.  Sometimes it's nice to go ultra simple like this though.  It is a good refresher, especially when they're done using my favorite colors.

Isn't it lovely??  Purple, mint, silver holo, dots??  What more could you want in a manicure??  Pucci-licious is one of my favorite purple polishes of all time.  I purchased it a few years ago from HBBeauty Bar and am so happy I did.  I really need to grab a back up bottle before the company discontinues it.  It's always my luck that my favorites are discontinued.  Happens that way with food too at the grocery store...



Blue-Ming is another one of my favorites from Color Club.  I bet that this is a dupe of my new love Orly Vintage.  I'll have to compare them side by side in the near future.  I just love colors in this family though, which you already know.  Two coats, pure lovely mint neon-ness.

Both colors look amazing next to Serendipity Polish Holo-Day Lights.  If you love holo glitters, then you need to purchase this beauty.  It's so dense on it's own, but I always put it over a plain silver base or something like Mirrorball.  I do that because I don't want to use the whole bottle and have no back ups.  I'm crazy like that.

The One With the Re-Creation of an Easter Bunny Manicure

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  It was super warm two days ago, and now it's super cold again.  Okay, maybe I'm being dramatic, it's Spring time cold.  You know, 50s and rainy.  Those April showers better bring the May flowers.

Easter is right around the corner and I am here with some Easter nail art!  I'm on this kick of re-doing manicures that I've done in the past.  It's been fun for me to see how I've grown when it comes to nail art.  Heck, it's even impressive to me to see how I've grown when it comes to painting my actual nail, my nail shape, etc.

The design I'm re-creating today is a floppy eared bunny which I originally did as part of a Bestie Twin Nail feature with 25 Sweet Peas.  I absolutely loved this design two years ago, and I love it again now.

I can't believe that I purchased Pucci-licious two years ago around the time I originally did this manicure.  Shows me how little I use this polish because the bottle itself really looks like it's never been used.  I should look at see how many manicures I have used it for.  Regardless, it's a gorgeous shade which covers completely in two coats.



I was going to use Color Club Blue-Ming like I did last time, but I just recently got my hands on ORLY Vintage and it's been screaming to be used.  Two coats, pure mint gorgeous perfection.  I'm so happy that Sally Beauty added this beauty to the ORLY core collection along with some other neons.
