Happy Birthday @christinails_it!

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  We have arrived to yet another Monday.  This is going to be a super busy week for me, but I'm excited for it!  The busier the week, the quicker it moves.

Today I am collaborating with a bunch of lovely ladies on Instagram to wish Christina from christinails_it a Happy Birthday!  Some of you may know Christina as @nails_and_wax.  For her birthday, we have re-created one of her manicures, some of the ladies re-created them using her favorite colors.  There are so many beautiful designs on Christina's Instagram that it was hard to pick what I was going to re-create.  I finally decided on this striping tape manicure.  I loved the color scheme so instead of switching it up, I did a similar color scheme using some of the new FingerPaints Fast Dry polishes.

Let's take a look!

Colors Used:
  • FingerPaints - Champagne Toast
  • FingerPaints - Cool Coral
Isn't it a beautiful manicure?  I haven't done a simple striping tape manicure like this in a long time.  It's like I almost forgot that I can do a tape manicure with two colors and not have to do a white base with a gradient all the time.

Now I did my best to put the tape in the exact same spots that Christina did.  To do this, I found myself constantly placing the tape, posing my hand like she did in her photo, then re-placing the tape because it was wrong, and re-posing until it was right.  I think I did it almost perfectly.

For my base, I used Champagne Toast.  If you read my swatch post about this collection then you know that this polish requires only one coat!  It dries super fast so I was able to apply the tape without waiting a super long time and without having to add a coat of fast dry top coat.

Once the tape was placed where I wanted it, I added two thin coats of Cool Coral over the top.  I did one nail at a time since the polish does dry super fast, I feared that I would have tape stuck under the coral if I did them all at once.  I topped it all off with a coat of the FingerPaints Fast Dry Top Coat, which just as the polishes dried super fast.  Super super shiny.  Honestly might be a go to top coat for me now!

What do you think?  Fan of the striping tape manicure?  Think I should do more again??

I hope you have a super Happy Birthday, Christina!!!!

Head on over to Christina's Instagram to wish her a Happy Birthday!!!!  Also check out my Instagram to see the collaboration collage!

Until next time, <3.
