Easter Eggs

9:30:00 AM

My poor Peeps only lasted about two days in total.  I had painted the base coat on and wore that for a day before I painted on the nail art.  Probably not the best idea because the base wasn't in the best condition when I started adding the Peeps.  Then a day and a half after I had those lil guys on, they were murdered at my job.  Poor guys never stood a chance =(.  I miss the bright colors on my nails, not  going to lie.  I may have to do it one more time before Easter because it seems at the rate I'm going, I will have four Easter mani's in total.

For my second Easter manicure, I decided to do Easter Eggs.  I'm not too sure how I feel about this manicure. Part of me likes it, part of me hates it.  I think the hate part is taking over, but I'm going to keep them on until Monday night (painted them Friday night and tonight touched up some of the chips).  I don't know what it is about it, maybe it's my designs, but I feel they look weird lol.  I like the "gradient" background I attempted.  They looked really pretty, then I was putting designs on and my opinions started to change.

What do you think?

This is where I normally do my "Colors Used" section, but there were a lot.  I think in total I used 14 nail polishes. 3 purples, 3 blues, 3 greens, 2 yellows, 1 white, 1 glitter, 1 base.  That seems right, and I just realized how crazy it seems using that many polishes to do this mani.

All were painted a base coat of French Tip White by New York Color to resemble a white egg shell.  Next came my experimenting in dabbing/gradient.  I do not own any of those triangular make up sponge things, so I used a napkin for my dabbing.  I wish I had pictures of what the nails looked like along the way. Maybe next time.

I started dabbing the blue ring finger first.  I figured if my accent finger looked horrible, I could just keep it on one hand and leave the rest white.  I attempted a gradient by dabbing on lighter blue, then a darker blue towards the bottom.  To get the color blended I added a medium shade of blue in between so the colors weren't so harshly divided. I loved what it looked like on my ring finger, so I went color crazy on all my other nails.  In my opinion, the napkin worked perfectly.  It gave each of the nails an egg dyed look which I thought was really cool.

Then came my designs, which I added with tooth picks and dotting tools.  I don't know if it was the colors I picked or what not, but I think my designs are not what I like.

So, do you think they resemble Easter eggs??

Another post either Monday or Tuesday :) Hope you all are having a great weekend!
