Snowman Bestie Twin Nails with 25 Sweetpeas

Good morning polished world!  How are you all doing today?  It's finally Saturday, but unfortunately my weekend is super busy so basically today is my only day to relax and enjoy the day.  Oh well, maybe once the holidays are over I can go back to resting more.  That reminds me, I need to start my Christmas manicures!  It's the 10th and I haven't done a single one.

Today I'm posting alongside 25 SweetPeas for a Bestie Twin Nails feature!  A few weeks ago, Sarah and I saw this adorable snowman manicure by Ruth's Nail Art and both wanted to re-create it.  Since we both wanted to, we figured why not have a Bestie Twin Nail post!

Let's take a look!!!  Hiding the photos under the cut because there's a lot of them!

Colors Used:
  • Zoya - Dream
  • Acrylics
How adorable is this manicure??  Seriously, I do not know where Ruth came up with the idea, but I love it.  I never would have thought to create little snowmen looking up at the snow!!  The design was rather easy to do.  The lovely Sarah may or may not be creating a tutorial for it, but I'll try to talk you through it.

Once my base was dry, I took my white acrylic paint and painted on the snowman's head.  I suggest outlining the head first, then filling in the rest, otherwise your little guys will be uneven.  I also tend to like the "coloring book" method; color in the lines!!  Once that was done, I took my orange acrylic painted on the carrot nose.  The little snowflakes were the next details done using my smallest brush.  I then went back through with the same brush and added the black details.

Two coats of top coat and I was done.  Yes, two coats because I find that the acrylic paint eats up the top coat and the finish isn't smooth or glossy.

I think Zoya Dream was a great base for this manicure.  Two coats of perfect, blue, scattered holo effect.  Like the little guy is looking up at the snow on a winter's night.  Corny sounding, but that's what it looks like.

What do you think?  Like this look?  Think it's something you'd ever try??

Don't forget to check out Sarah's design!!

Until next time, <3.
